Regina Ringette, in partnership with Ringette Saskatchewan and the Al Ritchie Community Association, is thrilled to announce a new gym ringette program starting February 12!
The program will run every Monday from 6-7 PM at the Al Ritchie gym. It is open to all children age 8-12. It is a drop-in program offered to the public at no cost. Gym ringette sticks and rings are provided. The program will run every Monday all the way to June 17, excluding stat holidays. Current ringette players age 8-12 are welcome to participate!
The program lead is Hailey Aquin. Hailey is a former ringette player, current ringette coach, and avid supporter of engaging youth into the sport of ringette. Planning for this program started over a year ago when members of Ringette Saskatchewan, Regina Ringette and the Al Ritchie Community Association first met in January 2023. Since then, Hailey has been coordinating with the Al Ritchie Community Association leading to the launch of the program.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the program. Minimum age for youth volunteers will be U14. Volunteers can sign-up at https://signup.com/go/LvVdkTe. These hours will count towards the Regina Ringette team volunteer requirement.
Gym ringette is an exciting way to broaden access to ringette, increase exposure of the sport, provide growth and volunteer opportunities, develop ringette skills, exercise, share the positive culture of ringette, and support our community.
